To our community- Your local firefighters greatly care about the community we serve. While we are already on the "front lines" of the current COVID-19 outbreak, we strive to find more ways to help. Your local IAFF Local 55 Firefighters who serve the County of Alameda will look to forego (when possible) our routine of cooking shift dinners in order to support our local restaurants that may be facing economic hardships during this time. We would like to invite our residents and local business owners to compile a list of restaurants throughout The county that are offering "take out" service. You can comment or tag these restaurants in the comment section below. We hope that our friends and neighbors will see this list, share it, and collectively help our local businesses and community members during this difficult time. Respectfully, Your IAFF Local 55 Firefighters #ALCOFIREFIGHTERS

Tonight’s Neighborhood Watch meeting in Union City. Location at James Logan High School hosted by UCPD and the Mayor. When : Wednesday, February 26, 2020 Where: James Logan High School - The SPOT Time: 7 pm -8:30 pm Will this measure re-open the fire station which was closed reducing the city's fire protection by 25 %? If the station is under utilized why don’t you just move the engine to another station to maintain a proper firefighting force? Union City now has 3 fire stations to protect 75,343 while the city of dublin has 60,000 people and had 4 fire companies, is this adequate protection of your citizens ? UC 75,343 3 fire companies Why would a citizen vote for the tax measure with no plan to reopen the station? The council voted to increase how much the measure cost but still there is a reduction in service putting the public at risk every day. How is this supposed to protect the citizens?
UNION CITY: VOTE NO ON MEASURE U. DONT PAY MORE TAXES FOR LESS FIRE SERVICE 🚒🔥😡 #ALCOFIREFIGHTERS are on the corner of Decoto and Alvarado Niles, urging Union City residents to vote no on MEASURE U. This measure does nothing to secure your fire services for the city, including the dangerous decision by your Mayor to close Station 30 in the Southwest part of town. This measure asks you to pay more for fewer fire services. VOTE NO ON MEASURE U. #ALCOFIREFIGHTERS #KEEPUNIONCITYSAFE

WARNING: If you live in Union City, your community is regularly WITHOUT Paramedic and fire protection. Your mayor has been collecting a “public safety tax” since 2016 to keep all fire stations open and has DANGEROUSLY and arbitrarily decided to close a firehouse while you continue to pay for it. Vote NO on Measure U Now your mayor Carol Dutra-Vernaci dares to ask for more money and to renew the public safety tax. She is quoted as saying, “Station 30 is a luxury” to Union City residents even though she’s happy to take your money. Your safety is NOT a luxury. Vote NO on Measure U If you live in San Leandro, Hayward, Newark, or Fremont, your tax dollars are now supplementing Union City’s inadequate firefighting staffing. Union city is regularly EMPTY of fire engines, and your communities firefighters are now asked to step up and fill the VOID. Email and call Mayor Carol Dutra-Vernaci and DEMAND she KEEP UNION CITY SAFE carold@unioncity.org 510-675-5451 ext 9 then ext 1 #ALCOFIREFIGHTERS #keepunioncitysafe MORE INFORMATION AT www.keepunioncitysafe.com
